Linkage with International Associations

1. Dr. C.W. Chan was elected the President of the Association of Paediatric Societies of the Southeast Asian Region (APSSEAR). Prof. Y. L. Lau was our Hong Kong Representative at the Advisory Board. Dr. C. B. Chow was the Chairman of the APSSEAR Working Party on Childhood Injury. Prof. Y.L. Lau and Dr. C.W. Chan had submitted to APSSEAR the "Proposal for the Establishment of the APSSEAR Training Foundation." An introduction of HKPS was placed on the World Wide Web site of the International Paediatric Association.
   
   
2. Prof. Y. L. Lau, the official delegate of our Society, visited the Chinese Medical Association in Summer 1997.
   
   
3. Dr. M.Y. Cheng represented our Society to attend the Annual Meeting of American Academy of Paediatrics in New Orleans, U.S.A. during the period 1st - 5th November, 1997.
